OrthoVista automatically compensates for a wide range of image intensity and color variation introduced during image exposure, film processing, film scanning, and digital image processing operations. The software automatically computes and applies corrections which compensate for radiometric non uniformity within individual images and adjust adjacent images to match in color and brightness. The result is a set of adjusted input images which exhibit consistent intensity and color across the project area.

OrthoVista's automatic mosaic composition methods combine multiple georeferenced images into a single seamless image mosaic. This is a significant advance over expensive, time consuming manual composition methods. OrthoVista offers several mosaicking options which combine large numbers of individual images into a seamless, digital mosaic image - without operator involvement.

OrthoVista provides an easy-to-use graphical interface. In it's simplest form, the operator can process tens, hundreds or even thousands of images with a simple sequential click on the "1", "2", "3" buttons. Under typical conditions, an operator is productive with the software within a few minutes to an hour after first seeing it. More advanced capabilities can be explored naturally and learned quickly as the need arises.
